Furthermore the association is organizing a wide range of excursions to law firms, ministeries, courts and other institutions and companies that are related to law students future current interests and future choose of jobs. Unfortunately not all the events will be held in english, but it is our hope that the international students will take part in as many as possible, in order to gain insight into the Danish society and the Danish legal system. The Legal Debate Society is hosting numerous social events including "Friday bar", where you can enjoy cheap drinks with your fellow students, the semester parties at some of the most popular locations in Copenhagen, the International dinner, the Nordic Week, the Grand Galla, the soccer turnament "Culpa Cup", etc. It is our intention to enhance interaction between the international and Danish law students and thereby giving the possibility for creating professional as well as social contacts among the international and Danish law students. International dinner Every semester The Legal Debate Society is organizing an international dinner event that is meant to create a fun and memorable night for the law students on exchange in Copenhagen as well as the Danish law students soon to be going on exchange abroad. This way, the exchange students will get a chance to mingle with each other and hopefully be able to offer each other support during their respective exchange periods. This semester the internationl dinner took place Thursday the 8th of April in the cantina at Jurahuset. The international students got the opportunity to socialize with Danish students who are going on exchange in their country next semester. This way they got a chance to share their experiences as an exchange student and to mingle with other international students, as well as getting some tips about Copenhagen from the Danish students. Before the dinner Jacob Mchangama, Director og Legal Affairs in CEPOS, and an active debater in the Danish media concerning human rights gave a very interesting lecture. The dinner included a delicious buffet from Cofoco, wine and soda, all on our expense.
The dinner event was sponsored by MAQS Law Firm and The Faculty of Law. The next international dinner will take place in the Fall.
"Friday bar" The Legal Debate Society is organizing "Friday bars" in cooperation with Horten about every second week in the cantina at Jurahuset from 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. The prices are reasonable. The "Friday Bars" popularity has risen a great deal and so has become an important part of social life for the law students. It is a great opportunity to mingle with other international students as well as the Danish law students. The next "Friday bar" takes place on the 10th of September. We are looking forward to seeing you!
